4 out of 5 stars An educatioal toy   November 20, 2008
I bought the toy for my granddaughter for Christmas for this year. She's into designing and I thought this might help her to get started. But I won't know if she likes it until after Christmas.

4 out of 5 stars You get about as much out of it as you pay for it.   November 19, 2008
I will let you know up front that my then 11 yr old daughter is not real big on video games. She had a lot of fun with this for a while but then lost interest and hasn't played with it in months. If your child really likes fashion and being creative they will like this. I bought this really cheap so it was worth the money I spent.

3 out of 5 stars Not Worth the Money. Buy It Used!   July 23, 2008
My daughter, who was 9 at the time, really wanted this last Christmas. Back then it was priced very high, around forty bucks. I hated to pay that. Not many toys are worth it, if you think about it. Eventually, it went on sale, so I did get it for her.

Emily played this once or twice not long after receiving it. Since then, it had just been setting there in the box. When she cleaned her room about a month ago, she gave it to me to sell. I asked her if she was sure & she agreed.

She said it was an okay toy, but she didn't care if she never played it again.

I think that says it all.

I sold it for about five dollars, which is about what I'd recommmend you pay.

3 out of 5 stars Ok for Older Girls   February 21, 2008
This really is a great idea! However, the child needs to understand the whole concept of designing and showing clothes first... Then designing is the fun part. My daughter is 8 and would love to just design. She could care less about the whole fashion show stuff.
Maybe she'll get into it when she's alittle older.

4 out of 5 stars *I* like it...   January 30, 2008
My sister got this game today at Wal-Mart only because it was on sale for $8.50, she already has Dream Life which she enjoys.

My sister loves fashion and for the most part she loved this game.

You start off in the United States and go through the major (or not so major) cities of the States with your fasion designs. At each show you are given a few goals to achieve: overall price of the outfit and two themes to stick to (or not stick to.) After the outfit(s) are designed you choose and style your model.

The judges give you a rating from 1-5 based on their personal preferences and whether you hit the themes or not. In the beginning you don't know the judges personal preferences, but as time goes on and you continue in the fashion industry you slowly unlock each of their two preferences. (Some hate certian colors or models, this will affect their score.)

If your score is high enough you are able to put a few of your pieces in your store where you can earn money. (To actually earn the money you have to go to the menu, hit the End Turn option and Manage Your Books.)

Designing the clothes is fun but a little hard with the remote. For me, the controls for the game aren't set up very logically and it got a little tricky since I kept hitting select when you need to hit down to choose an item. The clothes were simple, though varied and once you unlock the options you have lots of choices. It was frustrating until I figured that part out.

After each fashion show you get Diva Points and a new model, the Diva Points can be applied to the models and help them with their walk and get more points for you in the end. The models get pricey though, which I didn't like. Certian shows would cost me $4000 dollars for the models alone.

Graphic wise this game is great for the people who don't play Sims or other like games, the graphics are poor and simple and kind of boring.

All in all, I liked this game myself (I'm 18) it just takes a little while to get the hang of playing it. Even my little brother came out and started helping my sister and I choose outfits.
