Product Description With fun animal sounds all around and plenty to do, little ones will discover what a busy place the farm can be. "Neigh" says the horse,"baaa" answers the sheep, "cluck!" chirps the chicken, "moo" ... says the cow, "oink!" ... squeals the pig. They'll even discover what some of the animals feel like, when they pet the "cottony" cow, "hairy" horse, "woolly" sheep, and the "squiggly" piggly tail! From "furry" to "fuzzy" and everything in between, Touch & Feel Animals are a fun way to introduce children to a world of interesting textures and help develop their sense of touch.pAs toddlers grow, they'll learn about life on a farm that's just their size, with Farmer Jed and his animal friends! The farm includes Farmer Jed, cow, sheep, horse and pig; the chicken stays attached to the barn. Figures are surface washable with a clean, damp cloth. All pieces store inside.
very entertaining January 8, 2009 This was a Christmas present for our grandson,he sits for long periods of time playing with the animals and people.
Overall very pleased with this toy January 7, 2009 Bought this for 17 month old. She is just starting to learn animals and sounds. On her own she will play with it for 10 minutes or so, then it becomes a repository for anything else she can stuff in it. With Mom or Dad she will play with it with a much longer period of time. It's quite durable and I haven't had too much problem with the silo coming loose as other reviewers have commented on, though when it did I found it hard to snap back on. We don't have the furry animal version, which is probably a good thing as she's still in the everything-in-the-mouth stage. It's nice bright colors, realistic sounds and good, chunky, easy-to-handle figures. I personally like the cute little details molded into the plastic (ropes, mice, cats, farm implements) though they really don't add anything to the play value, they're just eye candy for the grown ups I think.
Criticisms: The switches or pressure pads which activate the sounds must be very close together because sometimes the wrong sound will play with the wrong trigger, or just knocking or pressing the casing will set one of them off. The sheep's stall is very close fitting and I see can be frustrating for a child who hasn't completely mastered fine motor skills to get the figure in and out. Neither issue is a big deal IMO. The most annoying thing is that the placement of the on/off switch on the bottom of the toy means that if it is pushed or dragged across the floor in the right direction it switches off and a small child will not be able to turn it back on themselves.
Fun for my boys! January 6, 2009 Fisher-Price Little People Animal Sounds Farm
When my first grandson was born I decided to have Fisher Price toys at Nana's house since his dad and aunt had enjoyed them so much. The farm was the most recent addition to a growing collection. The boys couldn't wait to open it and they have both played with it quite a bit. They enjoy the animal sounds and my little guy loves the animals. Very fun!
Why did this have to happen on Christmas Eve.... December 24, 2008 I am very disappointed in Fisher Price, Amazon.com and myself....I happened to get 'mail' from Healthytoys.com and found that the adorable little Fisher Price Animal Farm set that my little grandson Leo would love has unacceptable levels of chlorine...which affects reproductive systems and may cause asthma...Mama Mia...of course, I'll be sending it back to Amazon.com and will hurry to find something else for Leo. I am upset and angry at Fisher Price for still selling 'bad' toys...haven't they gotten the message to clean up their act yet, I'm upset and angry at Amazon for being an outlet for these toys and, of course, upset with myself for not being diligent enough in researching my shopping. But, there is a silver lining, I found out about all of this before Chistmas...before Leo got to see the cute little farm set and love it. Bah Humbug!
