Excellent portable toy August 12, 2008 My seven month old baby has been playing with this toy for the past couple months and loves it. Because the entire toy is a little awkward and heavy for her, we've taken the keys off the keyring and she plays with them individually. She loves to spin, push, and manipulate each key and has developed great hand-eye coordination and control with this toy.
The music key is great - the rest are just okay December 18, 2007 My son is 15 months and he still gets a kick out of the blue music key. He likes to press buttons and this one is no exception. He doesn't pay much attention to the red or yellow keys and never really did.
I do have to agree with the other reviewers that the keyring is super flimsy. The keys haven't been on the ring since about 2 days after bringing this home. I would reccomend this toy for babies a little older than the "3 months and up" the box says.
Looks can be deceiving July 21, 2007 I was super excited to bring this toy home to my daughter (age 5 months.) I bought it at Kmart (was only about 8 bucks there). I was really disappointed with the flimsy ring, as my intention was to link this to her stroller and high chair table. The ring absolutely will not withstand any movement, and barely holds the keys together, as is. As other reviewers stated, the keys are fine separately, but that is not why I chose this toy. So, if you are okay with using the key separated, then this is an okay toy - but if you are looking to buy it for hanging on things or if you want the keys to remain together, then this is not a good toy.
Great Piece of Entertaining Fun! September 27, 2004 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My little boy recieved this toy at 5 mo of age and now at 8 still loves it. It is separated but everytime he sees a piece of this he lights up and can't wait to rattle, shake, press and roll the keys. Highly recommended!
buy something else! June 28, 2004 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
My husband braved Toys R Us when our son was 4 months old and came home with this. Our son was teething at the time and put everything in his mouth and this was just too hard. At that age, he would also shake and rattle everything he picked up and one of the keys would always knock him in the head. Since this is made of very hard plastic, it would most often produce tears. Although the yellow and red keys were of no interest, he did somewhat enjoy the blue key which has a button which would activate sounds and music. However, my son is now 8 months old and that button has stopped working. He is now developing the "pincer grasp" and I'm hopeful that he may develop some interest for the moving parts of the yellow and red keys. Maybe 3 months is too young and FP should change the age recommendation. I was also disappointed that the ring linking the three keys together opens too easily and I found myself retrieving and putting the four pieces together several times a day. I can honestly say that I spend more time doing so than my son does playing with it. This is why I would suggest buying something else. For a little more money, I would recommend The Lamaze products like the Pupsqueak which is much more "noggin friendly" and much more entertaining. You'll definitely get your money's worth.
